Paint correction removes existing imperfections — swirls, scratches, buffer trails — by machine polishing the clear coat. Ceramic coating is applied afterwards to protect that corrected finish, adding gloss and resistance to chemicals and contamination. Most cars benefit from correction first, then coating.
